The VET in Schools (VETiS) training model involves students learning in a commercial working environment.
Students from the South East Local Learning and Employment Network (SELLEN) are participating in the courses using this environment as a totally Online experience.
Work within the Internet and Multimedia industries often sees participants working online and never physically meeting their clients.
We are going to practice that work process in 2010.
Classes in our Bass Coast campus are structured to a normal working day so a true vocational experience is ensured. Start time is 9.00 am end time 4.30 pm.
A typical year has 15 sessions of 7 hours face-to-face which is the equivalent to the 100 hours a typical VCE sequence of units needs in a year.
Students gain a Nationally recognised course as well as the equivalent of 2 VCE units for each Certificate.
The working environment is industry standard in hardware and software.
Indeed Impact Creativity Centre successfully completes many commercial productions annually with the same equipment.
Production work of high standards is expected of the students and is modeled by the trainers.
As a commercial environment there are certain codes, particularly dress codes. Neat casual clothing is appropriate, no singlets, thongs etc.
